Your homework from this week’s session is to be mindful of your thoughts, especially the negative ones. Make an effort to use some of the cognitive defusion exercises that we spoke about in the session, in order to distance yourself from some of your negative thoughts.
You were also asked to take 15 minutes every day to practice some form of mindfulness over the next week.
Your mindfulness exercise this week was an unguided one, where we asked you to practice being aware. We asked you to take 15 minutes to sit or lie, whatever is comfortable, and take the time to observe your surroundings, moment by moment. Notice any thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations that may arise in this time, and any thoughts that hook you, and interrupt the flow of the exercise.
